2012 Praying it through
The focus for Living Hope in 2012 is praying it through. 2 Chronicles 7:14a: ” if My people; who are called by My name, humble themselves and pray and seek My face”.
We PRAY that everyone will commit to praying before making any decision and also to pray it through as we seek the Lord’s guidance for the direction of our personal lives and our church in 2012. We often depend on our own skills and abilities when life seems easy, but we turn to God when we feel unable to help ourselves. Depending on God is not defeat or weakness, but a realization of our own powerlessness without Him and our need for His constant contact.
Summer changes As summer nears, many folks will be going on vacations & ballgames will be played by kids. For this reason, starting May 6th we will not have Sunday night classes during the summer months. Please keep in mind during the vacation months the commitment’s that we all have as a Church family.
Mid Week Life Classes
There are many chances to get involved in small groups that go on periodically through the month and/or week. See any of the church leaders to find out when & where groups are meeting.
Men’s meetings
The men of Living Hope have been gathering weekly for prayer, coffee, & accountability. For more information on when they meet, please get with Adam Bigley or you can reach him @ 615-347-3139.
“Son” dresses by: Threads of Hope
Through Prayer & Direction from God it has been laid on our heart to reach out to a couple of different ministries in Kenya, the Dominican Republic, & Honduras but not limited to. The idea is to send a couple of shipments per year to these places, consisting of some handmade garments, dresses for the little girls, t-shirts for the boys & blankets for the nursery/orphanages.
May 2nd is the next date for us to sew “son”dresses. We will meet at Susan Davenport’s house from 6:00-8:00. Please bring asewing machine if you have one and RSVP to Mary Collins so she’ll have enough supplies. Feel free to bring anyone who wants to join us and if you don’t sew, just come for fellowship. For directions, please see Susan or Mike. FYI: men are always welcome.
Nursery Volunteer Meeting
May 20th, immediately following service, Tamara will be holding a short meeting for all nursery volunteers. Snacks will be provided, so if you serve in the nursery, please plan to attend so she can go over upcoming curriculum and upcoming plans for the nursery.
